With a population of approximately 16,000, Bonaire is a special municipality within the countries of the Netherlands and is governed under the laws of Holland. With a colorful history dating back to 1000 AD, the island is known for its world-class diving, snorkeling, windsurfing and kite boarding which are all surrounded by a pristine reef environment which is recognized by the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration.

Bonaire’s geographic location of 12.833 N, 68.2500 W places it outside the hurricane belt and the island enjoys beautiful weather and easterly tradewinds throughout the year with an average air temperature of 82F, the average water temperature of 80F and rainfall of only around 23 inches for the year.
